How to disable columns at all?
It needs vertical space which I need.

You want to remove columns ?

Right click and column header and select Remove and then select the column you want to remove.
If you then want to save the new layout as your default layout , then select "Save current layout as default"

I want to remove all columns. The whole line.

Sorry you can do that.
Then there would be nothing to show and no way to sort.

But I'm using the List not the Detailed mode. For that the collums are useless.

Might be usless for you.. But the columnheader controls the sorting. so even if you view in list mode, you can press the column header to sort by date, ext and so on

and it also control the width of the list column, by resizing the filename column you can fit more/less columns in list mode

Hm. But that way it uses the space I could use for something else. So then I know its not changeable. Thanks for your reply.
