In beta. for 14.5 (build 3049)
If none/only 1 file is selected. it will queue up all files in the folder..
You see the image queue in the title bar eg [4/10] space / backspace goes to next / prev image and also arrow button
if you select mutiple images only the selected items are queued
-
Oh wow, that's great !! Can't wait to use it in the future release ! Thanks a lot !! 👍
P.S: I already have v14.5 3049 but it's not working, is it for an upcoming release ?
-
As I said. it is in 3049.. It should work. don't know why it does not work for you.
I cannot reproduce that it does not work
-
Clicking the blue Left & Right Buttons in the Picture Viewer has no effect, I tried, in a bunch of different Images folders. The Slideshow button also doesn't work, and the Show Date/ Time button also does nothing (odd) !!! I stopped short of going to Configuration > Plugins > Rebuild Config. Anways I will try downloading a fresh Beta Portable & testing it. I'm using the Portable Beta latest version ! Maybe it's because I'm using Windows 10 ? (Enterprise Edition) & my default Image Viewer is JPEGView.
P.S: Works well in a fresh Beta updated Portable copy, but on mine it permanently says "[1/8]" in the TitleBar next to the filename in EVERY folder & doesn't cycle between images, just a blank image if I click Next. Any solutions ?
-
So no commands works. that very strange. Does space / backspace work ?
Like something is blocking the command for you.. You have any program running that hook it self into running processes. Like autohotkey or thinks like that
-
No, all the commands work, except for the detection of other images in the folder. The Slideshow doesn't work because it cannot detect other images, and the Left and Right Blue Buttons are broken because in the Title Bar it says "[1/8]" in every folder even when there's dozens of other Images in it ! I can see the Slideshow working because it flickers, but there's no other Images in the PictureViewer that is borked at this point. My guess is a Config file conflict (not a prob /w Win10 as my fresh Beta Portable copy works), but I don't want to lose any settings by needlessly resetting stuff. :)
Gimme an hour and I'll narrow it down to the faulty Config XML file. ;)
-
There is no different from portable. It is the exact same exe.
And if it show 1/8 it detected other files in the folder..
So space / backspace key did not work (NOT toolbar icons) ?
-
Space/ Backspace is working but it's not displaying any other Images other than the one I pressed F1 to View. & to answer your question, I do have AutoHotkey scripts running, & COMODO AV/ Firewall. I'll try singling out the config file progressively. The PictureViewer is only displaying one file, and the "[1/8]" pictures is incorrectly displayed for all my image folders, even where there's over 30 images ! This is what I see when I press Space:
P.S: I'll make a throwaway clone & test it out —see what I can find. By the way, if it was a conflict /w AutoHotkey or COMODO Internet Security Premium, it wouldn't explain why my fresh d'ld Beta Portable copy was working. ;D
-
O.K. I narrowed it down to SessionConfig, when I replaced that /w a copy from the Beta Portable, the Images are properly cycled & detected !! I'll see if I can make a transition to a working version of the SessionConfig folder without any data loss. Also I replaced Config + Extensions, but the bug still persisted. Now I need to find out what in the SessionConfig folder is causing the Images to not be detected.
P.S: I found it, it's a prob in SessionConfig\History folder !!!! Oops no it's something else, I'm still looking into it, now it says there's 147 images in Title Bar, I'll figure it out.
P.P.S: Now even the fresh d'ld copies are broken —they do not display the Folder Image Count in the Title Bar. :(
-
Also there is a typo during Update, says: Unzip update into into "C:\Users\dell\AppData\Local\Temp\MUTemp\Multi Commander5005".
It should be just one into. :o

It queue all files in the current folder. It filter away some know file types like .exe, dll, pdf and so on, But it will can queue none image files.. it will just fail to load them and show a blank screen.
Hmm I can remapp all command to higher ids, so if there are some conflicts with app that hook them self into the application it might solve it.
-
O.K. thanks, let's hope that fixes it —I'am really dying to use this new feature !
P.S: Like right now in my new throwaway Portable copy, the F1 key stopped working, & I had to do a reset in Quick Look & Feel. Somehing is definitely up, it could be the KeyBinds, but I'am not certain (nevermind this was because it was running Multiple Instances, got that fixed (still not responding to F1 key though, & the Keyboard Customization is not recognizing any existing KeyBinds !) Also it's sometimes cycling images from another Panel !
-
I switched my Configuration > File Type Setup > Image Viewer from MC PictureViewer (Internal Extension) to "JPEGView" & now back to MC PictureViewer, & now the F1 Key won't respond or View File won't work on the images ! How do I fix this w/o resetting ? P.S: I fixed it from a Backup, but MC (buggy Custom Key Mappings ?) is broken. I'll wait for an update patch before I tweak the File Type Setup > Viewers.
P.S: Thee's nothing wrong /w the KeyBinds —I had conflicting Viewers for the same File Extension, that's why F1 Key wasn't responding 👍 But yeah the Images aren't cycling or being detected in the Image Folders —baffles me !
-
Im not sure what you done.. If "View File" command in ButtonBar/Toolbar/Menu does not work.. F1 will not work either. they all connect to same command.. if button/Toolbar/Menu work but not F1 then it is mapping that is off
Else it is the configuration in FileType setup, There is a "Reset to default" button in the FileType setup that will remove all and replace with default.
the MCPictureViewer is devided into many profiles, So you can easily just replace some of them. and to also be able to remove the ones you don't want
-
Nah the File Type Setup is working flawlessly, along /w F1 key and View File, I'am just having the previous issue of not being able to cycle between images in folders (using Blue Buttons & Space/Backspace) using MC PictureViewer that's all ! ;D I couldn't View File or press F1 because I had MC PictureViewer AND JPEGView try to run the Images at the same time (conflicting shortcuts assigned in File Type Setup) —that is resolved. Just need to get the MC PictureViewer to cycle Images in Folder, that'd be grand ! Everything else is O.K. 😎
-
Must be something that steals the Windows Messages that are sent. I will remap the Ids to higher values, might fix it
-
Thank you so much !!! 🔥
-
It still doesn't work, but here's the Application Log when I'am invoking the PictureViewr & pressing Space/Backspace, & I gotta ask: why is it storing settings in APPDATA\Roaming ?! I'am running the Portable Beta version though. P.S: The second log in the same textfile is better as I experimented /w launching Images more /w it. Also could this be a Windowz 10 problem ? I'am running kinda low on disk space & I'am using K-Lite Codec Pack, if that helps.
-
It say it failed to load image.. guess there are lots of none image files there
No WIn10 issue.. Works on all machine I test on.. Not sure what you expect to show if you view lots of none picture files.. Try to actually view some pictures
If settings are stored in APPDATA then you are not running portable.
There only different between portable and not is a default configuration option in app/config/multicommander.xml

I went to a folder full of 22 .JPG images only & still same issue.

Also what is the App > Config > MultiCommander.xml setting to make it run Portable that you speak of please ? Maybe because it's running from APPDATA\Roaming is why my fresh d'ld Portable copies also were broken when trying to cycle images. I will test further & try to fix this glitch, by duplicating the folder & finding the heart of the problem. 😲

Then something is very weird with your system. The log you sent shows that it goes to the next file. But the files was not pictures. so it failed decode them to shown them.
Don't remember. Cant check now.. But if you look in the portable zip.. in multicommander.xml one of the first values at the top tells it to be portable. (Its not called portable.. the only differens is where it should look for the config files, so might be something about config )
-
Yeah don't worry I'll use JPEGView till I figure it out, I keep tweaking endlessly, I might have disabled something on my system that's why. I use a lot of Group Policy Editor configs & stuff so… Also in Help About > It says it's in fact running in Portable Mode, must be a stray folder that got into MC startup. Maybe I can do more tests once this MC PicViewr Beta update goes into Stable, so I don't have to update the Portable when testing !
-
Well it is stable since it works for me and I cannot reproduce any issues. :)
Not like I have a test department. Stuff only gets fixed if people can report a way to reproduce it. :) So maybe if somebody else have issue with it. They can report it so I can reproduce it.
By typing ":goconfig" in command line field, it will go to the config folder that are used. then you see what config files it is using

Noice !

I understand. I have like 20 different Image Viewers, together /w K-Lite Codec Pack & Window Blinds 10, these things are bogging my system down, I had even more but I reduced the apps startup considerably. It's still overkill I know. I may be able to run some tests once it gets into Stable download. At first I thought it was only /w my MultiCommander which is old, but now even fresh copies are broken, & I removed the APPDATA\Roaming folder. These things take time, I won't prolong this matter further… Ty for making such a wonderful app ! 🙏
