Sorry, my mistake. I read something about "Total rewrite of List/Grid UI component" and thought that would improve the scrolling behavior. But I'm also happy with the old scrolling behavior. At least it works without any delay. Smooth scrolling is btw supported by the GPU, not the CPU.

Sorry, I reinstalled v16.2, and now I'm getting the quoted error message there as well. So it must be a new module causing the error message, since the config files have always remained the same.

Thanks, I figured out which modules were causing it and removed them from modules.xml.

I don't think I can really help with testing, because I usually test software by using it for my work.

I don't really like that the keyboard shortcuts no longer work. It feels a bit too "early" to me.

And I couldn't notice any change in the scrolling behavior, except that it's harder to follow the scrolling with your eyes. How about smooth scrolling?

But that is not the best solution, because the panels are then not updated properly, and sometimes directories are missing from the directory tree. So I disabled this option again. My suggestion: With the next update, restore the previous behavior by setting the focus to the top of each panel.

When a tab session is loaded, no focus is set. If you use the Tab key to switch between the panels, the address bar is no longer highlighted, making keyboard-only navigation impossible. Only a mouse click resolves the issue.

This happens with all tab sessions in which more than one tab is saved per panel. The issue does not occur with tab sessions that contain only one tab per panel.

Yes, it works all good. Maybe I will reinstall it again as a test to see how it displays md. . Currently, it is used for Copilot implementation in various software, for example Adobe Reader. And since I don't want that kind of implementation, I removed it. At least removing it works. Microsoft could also prevent that by protecting the files.

I removed MS Edge WebView and I will not reinstall it. I will also remove it after changing to Win 11.

The focus indicator is now always at the very top in the first row. I could swear that it used to be at the top on the first file. Or am I mistaken?? I had already come up with the idea that one could remove this row entirely and leave out the jump one level up, or place it as a button in the Explorer's toolbar instead. But the row is needed for the context menu in the empty space, for example to create a new text file. Sorry, maybe off topic.

The error when moving files that also exist in the destination folder in protected directories when MC was started in admin mode has apparently been fixed. Thank you.

I can extract a zip with subfolders and they are created.  Can you explain what you are doing.. What do I have to do to reproduce it ?

Simply select the ZIP file without opening it and extract it with Alt+F6. Then the main directory with the name of the ZIP file should be created in the target directory, and this should also work for multiple ZIP files at the same time, if I'm not mistaken. In any case, the main directory named exactly like the ZIP file is not created, and the error message appears instead. Edit: "Unpack Archives into individual Folders" have to be enabled.

The error described above bothers me too. I have also noticed that when extracting with Alt+F6, directories are no longer created automatically, and instead an error message appears saying that the target path does not exist.

MC does not remember the toolbar settings, and if you disable all toolbars in the settings – not under View – it does remember that, but the space where the toolbars would normally appear is still shown and not used for the explorer panels.

I think I had forgotten that after renewing the automatic restoration of the windows, I have to manually close all instances and restart the batch file. The error occurs when I simply shut down the system without closing and restarting beforehand. I use Windows 10 and will probably buy the Extended Support in October and then continue to use Windows 10 for at least half a year longer than the last update was.

This tool is not the reason. This is only a small, very old tool, and if I remove this tool, I can only bring that instances visible with SystemInformer.

The restoration of window size has changed since the last beta version. "Restore" works exactly once to bring windows that did not appear on the taskbar onto the taskbar, and the second time the windows remain in limbo. Previously, with Autosizer, I only had to set the window size and position once, and for subsequent system starts, I used the restore function. Now, this only works for one system start, and the next time the windows end up in limbo again and can only be retrieved with the setup of position and size. So now I have to change the configuration of Autosizer every second system start.

I don't have FF.  I can't reproduce that.

There was no error before that, that it failed to delete some files in the folder ? Is the folder empty?
Is the folder a real folder ? or special virtual files that FF hook into to do special stuff with?

The problem also occurred with other folders that came from a smartphone backup using MPE. The error message may vary, but it never offers the option to delete the files or end processes that might be preventing it.

I also have Firefox and have many "idb" folders deep within my profile storage archives, in paths similar to the one in your error log message. I've checked the properties for about half a dozen of them and they all show read-only attributes for the folders, and most or all of them contain additional read-only subfolders. You might need to clear that attribute from any folders you want to delete and they might be protected by some other running process.

That's an interesting point, but when files are in use, there is the option to terminate the corresponding processes, which isn't offered here. Also, nothing changes when running MC as an administrator, and the Windows Explorer deletes the respective folders without any issue.

The files do not need to be locked in order to reproduce the error. All the affected folders so far I have been able to delete easily using Windows Explorer. For testing, you can use a copy of a Firefox profile folder that contains many files.
