A Few Wish List Items
« on: December 07, 2013, 09:58:56 »
Hi.  I'm a new user just getting used to Multi Commander.  There are a few things which I'd like to propose for the Wish List.

1) When "Autosize columns" is disabled, save/restore the column sizes/positions so they match what the user set and which match the screen width.

2) Option to enable "Calculate Folder Size" always.

3) Add icon for "Change Properties" to "File Commands" bar.

4) Change column title "Attrib" to "Attr".

5) File Info:  Hover, less delay (1/4 second) and no timeout.

6) File Info:  Hover, display all 3 timestamps (create, modify, access).

Thanks,  John

1) Modify the (default) column set and save that. that is the column layout that is used by default.

2) Tests with this show that the performance of the computer will be huts very bad. and it give a very bad experiance

3) Something like that is planned

4) You can customize all column names when you modify the column set that you uses

5) Maybe

6) Maybe

3) You can also add it your self as a command on any of the the QuickLaunchBars..
and you will also get it if you Ctrl+Double click on a file item in the Date or Attribute column.

Hello Mathias.

1)  Very good!  I understand now.

2)  I have seen other utilities which display everything but the directory sizes, then fill them in a few seconds later as they process them in the background.  I realize that it's a heavy load, but there are times that it is quite useful.  Certainly it shouldn't be done always, just as an option setting.

3)  Very good!  Also, I'll play with adding it on a QuickLaunchBar later tonight.

4)  Done!  :)

5)  OK.

6)  OK.

Thanks, John

Hello Mathias.

3)  Very nice!  Done.  :)

Two more things occurred to me.

7)  After last tab, a (small) trailing "+" tab to open a new tab.

8]  Change Properties:  Allow setting milliseconds when the milliseconds option is enabled.

Thanks, John

7) Was planing something like that, But it did not work without major rewrite of how the drawing is done..But you can double click in the empty tab area to open a new tab

8] Problem is that the standard UI component used to select time do not support milliseconds. And building my own would take to much time.
( You really need to edit the milliseconds of the filetime ? )

7)  I understand.  The double-click is fine!

8]  No, I can't think of any time I've needed to.  It just seemed "symmetric".  It's not worth any extra effort.

Thanks!
