File Verifier (checksums)
« on: November 21, 2011, 14:28:41 »
1.
I've created md5-checksum file and md5-compare file (both containing one file, say test1.txt and test2.txt). Then i renamed original files to _test1.txt and _test2.txt and started comparing/creating. I expected to get error message showing 2 missing files.
a. If i check both checksum nodes or only Compare node, i get a choice dialog (see pic.)
b. If i check only md5-file node, i get message "All OK, Verified files 0"

2. There is a menu item Copy checksum to clipboard, but translation string is missing

1. Don't really understand what you are doing.

You create two md5 files. and then test them without the actual files there. ?

2. The value copied is the "Calculated" value. if it is empty

1. Yes. I test without files. And expect the MC to show me that files are missing. Instead i get a dialog with suggestion to rename/delete/do nothing. How can i delete non-existing file?

2. I mean that there's no "Copy checksum to clipboard" string in the language resource file.

3. It seems that rescan failed files doesn't work (e.g. when file exists but expected checksum differs from calculated). So at first time i get a dialog dialog with suggestion to rename/delete/do nothing, and when rescan i get nothing.

4. How exactly Expected value should be entered? Sometimes i need one click, sometimes 2 with a pause. Maybe shift+left click or something like that should be recognized. Or double click should be recognized in a different ways: when double clicked in Filename column - go to real file (as it is now); when double clicked on Expected column, a value should be edited?

1. Ahh okey. Will take a look

2. Ahh multilanguage text for that text is missing..OKey will fix

3. That strange. That worked before. I will have a look.

4. Yes entering checksum for manual compare are a bit tricky. Click and wait is what it is called. I been planing to redesign the whole thing for a while so because of that I have not wanted to waste time changing sometime that would be change again soon.
But maybe I just add an "Edit Checksum" option to context menu for easier editing.

1. Fixed (Build 874)

2. Fixed (Build 874)

3. Can not reproduce this. But have fixed a couple of gui issue. So that maybe fixed it.

4. Double click now works and context menu option for it added ( Build 874 )
