nothing happens!
« on: November 14, 2012, 17:12:08 »
Hi all,
I downloaded the 32bit portable version last night, extracted, and then double-clicked the Multicommander.exe.

Nothing happens!  I tried it a few times.

Am I doing something wrong?

I'm running Xp Sp3.

Thanks.

It should work. MultiCommander does not relay on any 3d party module to be installed.

Maybe the download was corrupted, Try download it again.
Or you might have something running that blocks it from starting.

Well, thanks for your response, but still no joy.

I downloaded again, unzipped with no problem, but when double-clicking, nothing happens.  The first time, I heard the drives respond, there was a slight flicker, but then nothing.

Subsequent clicks have no effect.  No errors, nothing.

Is there a module I should see in Task Manager?

I tried rebooting, I tried turning off Avast.. nothing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

On edit, I downloaded win32_portable_2.7.2.1200.

You should see MultiCommander.exe running.

I do not know why it does not work for you. It should. You must have something running that block it or something else.

In task manager there is nothing.

Well, I tried it after a reboot, with no other programs running, so Idon't know what could be blocking it.

Do you have any trace tool that would tell you what's going on?

Thanks.

No I got no tools for that.

The Event Viewer in windows might have an error/info message about it.
