Support and Feedback / What do MultiCommander with the Modify Date when copy over Network?

It removes the Modify Dates and created a new modify-date= copy-date. Most time i use BC for copying anything and MC only for starting programs/Files and Multirename, therefore i see this only sometimes...... I made another copy with BC and the Date was right. Maybe i have some thing in the settings wrong, but such a behavior need imo nobody.

I have turned the Command line on again because of relative Paths.

Relative paths work also on other computers with other username. I don't need to change the paths only because of a different username because of the %userprofile% variable.

My system refused to start because of a corrupt C:\Windows\System32\System (Most reason when a Windows system dont start anymore after Repair) and i attempted on a running system with MC (i dislike the command line...) to copy the windows made backup from C:\Windows\System32\config\RegBack\ to make the system running again. But MC was unable to open this folders. Then i started MC as administrator and it was possible to replace the corrupt System-File (a file without extension). Thats the history.

MC have a problem with Daylight-Savings when started as administrator. Therefore is the Administrator-Mode better than starting as Administrator. And MC is not everytime able to turn the administrator mode on if needed. When moving shortcuts on startmenu go MC correctly on administrator mode, but when trying to open special protected folders like C:\Windows\System32\config\ it don't work.

Therefore please give us a Custom Command like MC.AdminMode.
The Admin.Mode should go off when press this button again...

Sorry, i was only testing in the explorer panel. The command line i have always off. And i changed my mctab files to "environment tags" but it does´nt  work.

I need very important a fully support of Relative Paths like %Userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\.
This i need für using the portable version on multiple systems. Then always this %Userprofile%-Paths dont work anymore because the username is not the same like my.

ok, i guess the thing with the double folders and files are not very important. While normal work this happens never. A reload of the mctab-Layout fix the problem very fast without a restart. 6.4.5 works very good. This is really nice how many problems are solved now.

Sorry i dont have Filesystem Log in the Eventlog and i dont know how enable this.

Yes there are many external changes in this folders, microsoft outlook has set this folder automatically as global documents folder and i have decided to let it be. I work now only with SSD Drives, also Drive D is a SSD. My broken Notebook was with a DVD Burner and i removed this and installed a HDD. Now i bought accidently a Notebook with only one SATA connector. Thats not good, thats not for eternal, no place for second SSD. Therefore the second SSD is now on a USB 3.0 HUB installed. Maybe this is the reason why this happens sometimes. With second HDD on SATA onnector i never seen this.

The new method is very good, also on the aspire one netbook works it very fast.

I was working with different OS, thats the reason why....

Today again double folders and files in win 10 pro 64 bit. My screenshot is a little bit private, but its not easy reproducable and some people in here dont believe what i write, therefore i will provide this screenshot.

The path of the mctab-files, is not saved. In older versions MC always know this path, but now always i have to search this files. I have saved my mctab files in the config folder. This is only needed for save or load mctab files.

In Admin-Mode works the overwriting of existing files not. Deleting of files and copy/move works nice.

I was working on my own Order the windows start-menu (Installed a new version of a program and moved the shortcuts to the right place) Thank god that classic shell updated for Win10 1607.

BitDefender on VirusTotal.com do not report any issue, only

It detected the virus wile synchronizing the portable my portable tools folder with external Drive. This is a unprotected folder. Maybe i should run hitman pro.

the abort of the copy job is not reproducable und i am not able now to find something on the eventlog.

hat is kind of impossible to fix without more information on when that happens.

It happens only on my acer aspire one. My A6-6310 was destroyed by a corrupt PSU of a USB 3.0 HUB, therefore i used the netbook for working. OS is Win10 64 bit. Maybe this is not easy to reproduce, but it sent a error report...

i guess the error caused by Bitdefender, because bitdefender was thinking a file in that folder is infected and blocked it in real time.
I copy with the MC-Copy-Method using F5 or F6 or for deleting Del.

The child-windows like the copy move dialog are not in the same taskbar-group like MC, This is what i mean... The other off topic is only to explain why it not good that a child window are on a complete different place at the taskbar.

Bitdefender think also that the multicrashreport.exe is infected.

Today i tried to move a 200GB Folder to another HDD, but this job failed. MC didn´t finish, the copy/move-dialog, was closed without any reason and it was only 60 GB of this 200GB moved. The rest i move now with BC.

The Copy/Move Dialog-Field is not shown on the MC-Group in the windows Taskbar. I always disable windows Thumbnails with Winaero Tweaker and have a nice List in the taskbar Group of MC, but the The Copy/Move Dialog-Field is just at the end of the taskbar. Its heavy to navigate there when working with a hiddn taskbar like i do. Hiding the taskbar is possible with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker in special-settings enable "disable topmost" and the taskbar will not forces in foreground by itself. Only when i press win+T. To navigate between opened windows i made with the 7+ Taskbar Tweaker  special Keyboard shortcuts. when press alt+rightarrow it move to the window right on taskbar and alt+leftarrow left. The only badness with this nice tweak is that it destroy the alt+tab sequencing. So much off topic, sorry. But its not good that Child-Windows are not in the same group like Multicommander. Maybe i disabled the windows accidently with alt+F4. But The copy/move works now better

Sometimes it show every folder double 2 times and than are the panels empty and today it sent a crash report after showing every folder 2 times.
Example for what i mean with folder 2 times on display.

In the Alpha Version deleting in protected folders didnt work, but it seems this is fixed now.

this new scanning method is extremely fast. The loading of tab layouts is now extremely fast and all is high performant. I tested it on several Notebooks some AMD and one Intel I5 and on my main-computer i installed the Alpha2 today over the integrated installation in Program Files and it works very well, no crashes.

Flat File View works only when not much Files and Folders are in the Folder. If to much Content in the Folder for Flat View, MC Freeze. I thought when a new scanning method added, maybe this works now. Some other Commanders can show the whole HDD in Flat View, and some surprise me how fast this works because they slower with other things.

C++ seems to be a good language.

"Mail App in Win10" - I don´t use Windows Store Apps. The only App which i use are the Configuration App with the Half of the steering system, and i am angry about. They have enough Money in Redmond to create only one steering system. I disable in Windows 10 alot of things and i use always Classic Shell since Windows 7.

Sorry for Off Topic, but i have to say that Micrtosoft should first give uns a real alternative to Outlook Express and not such accidents like Windows Live Mail together with Windows Search. I always disalbling Windows Search. Maybe the legacy search of Outlook 64 bit works for good email searching, but i have no good way to export my emails from Outlook Express to Outlook 64 bit.

Your Alpha Release have i only portable installed and found no bugs. But i noticed that the flat view works not. I deleted a locked Windows.old Folder with Unlocker and attempted watching it with MC and Flat View. VS - Very interesting, is MC C++  od VB or what programming language?

There are Problems in Windows XP with the Alpha Version

Strange Error Message: "Failed to open or read config file : G:\\Config\MultiCommander.xml It might be corrupt, try to replace it with a backup or delete it"

But the same Portable installation works good in Windows 10. The Config is´nt corrupt.

Other problems i didnt see.

Can i replace the integrated installation with the portable alpha?

My Password Manager Alle meine Passworte Passwörter  AMP Cause also a extreme slowing down the speed of loading the .mctab-Files with more than 5 Tabs. When this program normal run is there no problem, but when using its tray-menu (Menu of the tray icon) and have alot passwords saved and going through some categorys, then is the tab layout loading of MC slow, and after closing this program completely (Tray icon no more on task-bar) is the tab loading speed so fast like after a system reboot. This is the fastest error reproduction method. When Excel only normal used (100-200 MB RAM) then cause Excel no trouble. With Firefox ESR64 and Virtualbox can i use full Memory space without problems, only excel make problems when using to much memory, but not so much like the password manager.

Edit: The Excel caused slowing down have maybe to do with externel sources. I use in some projects alot external sources.

The speed of loading tabs have nothing to do with the slowing down of the whole system. This was caused imo through Kutools for Excel.

The more excel need RAM, the slower load MC Tabs from tab layout.
