Support and Feedback / Issues with 3088 Windows 11 x64 Update
« Last post by sbankscharles on Today at 16:46:56 »
I performed the update to 3088 and now am having multiple issues.  Biggest issue is my files are not being listed when I open Multi Commander.  My default folders have been my download folder and a media folder with 467 files.

The next major issue is, if I go out of that folder and come back in, there is a 50 50 chance MC will crash.

Saw the post on portable version which seems similar.  I had finally got my columns setup correctly so please fix this soon.

I have very similar problems. I updated a few minutes ago.
I can navigate using the folder list and access files like that, but cannot use the 'go up' button to navigate through the folder structure. However, if I change the drive using the drive tab, then I can navigate the folders normally in that folder, but not the original. If I close MC whilst on that different drive, restart and go back to original drive, it sometimes lets me navigate that drive normally, but it seems very erratic.

Hope you can fix it soon. It's pretty unusable ATM.

I also found another possible problem. I went to downgrade the app so it was usable. The latest version was described as
MultiCommander_x64_Portable_(15.2.0.3077)
I download this and copy the files in to the correct folde. When I start MC it tells me there are other versions. I choose v 3086 as the latest available, but instead it updates to v3088,

Even if I mke a mistake, (I don't understand why I see dirferent versions available) an invitation to upgrade to 3086 should install 3086, not 3088.

Support and Feedback / Re: Adjusting text size
« Last post by GaryM on Today at 10:30:42 »
Code: [Select]
Configuration --> Explorer Panel settings --> Display tab --> FontsIncreasing font sizes for File list and Folder tree should go a long way toward relieving your eyestrain, Garry. It sure helped me. And an increased size of the File list font also applies to the option listings in Core settings and Explorer Panel settings, making subsequent option changes a bit easier to find.

Hi Gary and Mathias

Many thanks for your help which works like a charm. Much appreciated!

Did I miss the relevant documentation somewhere?
It was this rather old post on the forum you mentioned, Gary, which threw me off by 'using' the MultiCommander.ini file in
C: Tools\MultiCommander\SessionConfig\Config\MultiCommander.ini and I never looked in the 'Misc' subdirectory....

Have a nice Easter, you all!

Hello,

No you're not the only one.

I also have this strange behaviour on one computer at home.

@Mathias, are you aware of the problem ? Do you want us a vidéo of what is happening ?

Regards.

Yes it is the foldertree that mess with some new performance improvements in the filelist.
Will be fixed soon. I think I can fix it tomorrow when I'm back home

Immediately after a MC update was completed April 17,
the following glitch occurred:
When I start MC, the folder tree no longer automatically opens at
the tab session that I have previously checked as Autoload at
Startup. Instead a list of drives, files and folders shows up, as in
the attached screenshot. The Explorer panel to the right is empty.
The path line just above the folder tree shows the proper path
that is supposed to autoload. And the folder that is supposed to
be the currently focused one, is correctly listed along the bottom
of the MC screen.
In order to get the auto-loaded tab session to appear in the folder
tree and Explorer panel, I have to click Tab Sessions in the
toolbar (or File/Tab Sessions) and then click on the name of the
already checked auto-loaded tab session.
I tried closing and opening MC a few times, and I also re-booted
the computer, but neither of those steps worked. I also tried
restoring a previously backed up configuration, which did not
work either.

Build 3088 (portable version, x64), that I was upgraded to yesterday, acts very strange and basically is unusable.
1. After start MC shows (at least some folders, for example, ...\AppData\Roaming) as an empty ones (see MC-2025-04-19 - 01.JPG).
2. After "Refresh" the contents is displayed (see MC-2025-04-19 - 02 (after Refresh).JPG), but problems continue.
3. After going into some subfolder (by double-clicking), there is no way to go back to the parent folder (by double-clicking on ..).
4. In addition to that Folder list sometimes shows duplicate names (see MC-2025-04-19 - 03.JPG).
5. Navigating to some other folders is possible, but the one that is mentioned in step 3 as a 'parent' one stays inaccessible.
Am I the only one that lucky?..

Hello,

- To use (and install when it is not present) the cascadia-code font (https://github.com/microsoft/cascadia-code) at least for MultiDataViewer default configuration.
- To have by default in MultiDataViewer, a powershell color syntax formatting that is imitates the syntax highlighting that visual studio code is using (it is quiet difficult to be exhaustive when creating our own).
It may be possible to use their définitions ? https://github.com/PowerShell/EditorSyntax/tree/main
It is true for the common file syntax in use actually, XML, INI (MC files), JSON, PY and Ruby.
- An extension to analyze disk space graphically and/or as a percentage. Some examples : https://www.info24android.com/les-10-meilleurs-outils-gratuits-pour-analyser-lespace-disque-dur-sur-votre-pc-windows/
- Format document in Multidataviewer for common files (XML, JSON mainly) without modifying / saving the file by default (option when closing the viewer ?)

Concerning the workflow, I have to manage several servers via administratives share to operate the same actions.
- The idea is via the GUI (no script) to be able to apply file operations to a list of computers (ex \\MyComputerName01.fqdn.com\c$\MyWorkingFolder, \\MyComputerName02.fqdn.com\c$\MyWorkingFolder).
- The active panel in this case will be a computer of the computer list.

Regards.
