i tried this many times and result is always the same..everytime i want to display system files..they'll not be displayed unless i restart MC..is this a bug or that's how it really is..hope there'll be no need to restart MC

Might be that the file list result you are seeing is cached. Try to force a refresh (F2/F5 - depending on settings)

how about after turning on/off showing hidden/system files, the two panels will automatically be refreshed..after clicking 'apply' the result of the action(turning on/off) will automatically be seen in the panels...so there won't be any need to do anything other than turning on and off.

If it was to just simple automatically do a refresh it would have been done. :)  problem is that the internal design does not allows that. The part that handle A does not know about B so thats why it is not auto refreshed.

ok..i kind of getting it..if there's no way it can be done then i'll go with it..it doesn't change the fact that MC is great!

It might be fixed in the future. If I get some time over to redesign some internal parts.. :)
