Stop Folder Tree from following main panel

Hi,

I'm sure this is a noob questions but here it is all the same:

Is there a way of stopping the Folder Tree from opening up/expanding to the folder that I click on in the main panel? I want the Folder Tree to stay as it is unless I manually expand the folders.
